ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2012-2013 SCHOOL YEAR

School of the Madeleine is now accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year. Interested parents may pick up an application at the school office or download it from the Madeleine website. The Madeleine website is: schoolofthemadeleine.com

OFFICE DEPOT BACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAM

Every time parents shop at Office Depot and provide School of the Madeleine’s identification number, our school will receive 5% of the total purchase price in gift cards. These gift cards can be used by our office to purchase duplicating paper or other office supplies. If you are planning to purchase back to school supplies this summer or if you own your own business and shop at Office Depot, please consider using Madeleine’s I.D. number. BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHTS

Our annual Back to School Nights provide an opportunity to meet with teachers and hear an explanation of their classroom programs. Back to school meetings are for parents only and are scheduled as follows:

Parents of junior high students

Thursday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall

Parents are invited to meet in the parish hall for the junior high orientation. Refreshments will be served. After a short hall meeting, you will be dismissed to the junior high classrooms where you will be given a presentation by each of your child’s teachers.

Parents of students grades kindergarten through 6

Wednesday, September 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall

This gathering will begin with a social at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by an opportunity to meet with teachers in their classrooms and to hear an explanation of the classroom program.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION PROGRAM

School of the Madeleine will be collecting General Mills’ box tops. These box tops will be used to purchase educational materials. I want to thank Julie Grooms, Kristen Silva and Jen Michna for organizing this program.

MAIN EVENT FUNDRAISER

Our annual dinner dance or Main Event fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, March 3 at downtown hot spot of the Hard Rock Hotel. This stylish and hip Rock N’ Roll paradise is located in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego and will allow Madeleine parents to sway and boogie to the sound of legendary greats like Chuck Barry, Elvis Presley, and the Beatles. It promises to be a rockin’ good time! Please mark your calendars. This fundraiser is the school’s biggest moneymaker of the school year. Please remember that the purchases that PSA pays for during the school year results in lower tuition for all Madeleine families. We thank Susan Scheper and Amy McCoy for volunteering to be our main event chairs. This special night promises to be a fun-filled evening!

In support of Madeleine Rocks there will be a Helicopter Rock Band Drop. At our back to school picnic a helicopter will hover over the far end of the Madeleine athletic field and drop numbered balls with rock band bracelets. If your number is the lucky one to land in the Grand Prize Container or the nearest to it, you will win a cash prize. The cash prize is based on 50% of money received from the sale of the balls with maximum prize money of $500.00. Go to www.madeleinemainevent.com for more details.
